The ideal candidate should have at least 3 years experience working in the aged care sector, as well as delivering workplace training to workers from culturally diverse backgrounds. The candidate should have established industry contacts and network in the aged care and community services sectors.

Qualifications
  • TAE40416 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
  • A community services or aged care related AQF qualification at Certificate IV or Diploma level
Work Experience
  • Minimum of three years current professional experience in the community services or aged care sector
  • Experience in delivering training face to face classroom and online based learning incorporating workplace activities
Skills and Knowledge
  • Ability to work independently in planning and designing assessment tools, face to face delivery and conduct effective assessments
  • A good understanding of current community services and aged care industry practice in Australia
  • Advanced organisational skills and attention to detail with demonstrated effective time management skills and problem solving skills
  • Ability to effectively manage and apply key conflict resolution skills in a multi-cultural student environment
  • High level interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to use modern technology for teaching such as LMS platform and to assist in developing e-learning tools for course delivery
  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated individual who is able to demonstrate high level of current knowledge in the aged care industry
  • Proactively to identify potential workplaces and industry contacts for work placement
Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, prepare and deliver training and assessments, including recognition of prior learning to students in aged care and community services
  • Conduct and coordinate workplace training and assessments in the workplace according to APSI workplace policies and procedures and training package assessment requirements
  • Liaise with various industry stakeholders and APSI training partners to discuss work placements and update on industry practices
  • Participate in validation and moderation of assessments and course materials on a regular prescribed basis
  • Conduct industry consultation relevant to the units and the qualifications with industry experts
  • Mark assessments and provide feedback to students according to APSI’s assessment policy and procedure
  • Maintain professional development/currency to ensure personal knowledge, skills and competencies relevant to their training and assessing duties and ensure they are current and constantly advanced
  • Implement a continual improvement process regarding the training and assessment duties by acknowledging and acting on feedback from students and stakeholders.
